Kaffir!


KAFFIR! The word that has been misused so much that the general population have become utterly oblivious to its true meaning. In South Africa, it is considered blasphemous for Caucasians to address Melanin Dominant people as “kaffirs". Simply, it is considered the most offensive term in Azania's (South Africa's) vocabulary. If Mahatma Gandhi is not the first person to address the Melanin Dominant people of Azania as “kaffirs", then he must be the one who made the term more popular in the Afrikaner communities. 

How many of us truly understand the true meaning of the word “kaffir”? 

The word “kaffir" is an Arabic word which means “non-believer”, apparently some imbeciles who misinterpreted the word used it for the wrong reasons which also made the Melanin Dominant people to be enraged without even taking the initiative to delve deeper to ascertain the true meaning of the word that they have been verbally bludgeoned with by their oppressors. What a brobdingnagian misunderstanding…quite hilarious, if you look at it with an objective eye. 

Kaffir means non-believer. We all are non-believers of some beliefs as much as we believe in those we believe in. Most of us are kaffirs of racism, sexism, misogyny, misandry, afrophobia, xenophobia, and all kinds of discrimination that contribute to the rife segregation that engulf our world, today. 

Maybe, the Afrikaners understood, feasibly, what the word meant. What if they referred to the Melanin Dominant people as “kaffirs" because they did not want to succumb to the segregation laws that were introduced by the 1948 government? Would you get equally mad if a Christian referred to you as a “heathen", if you don’t believe in Christianity? 

Then you should anticipate a bunch of believers of the European religion to address you as a “heathen". Unless you have fists and guns to impel them to stop addressing you as such. 

If a group of Sapiosexuals engage in one of their convivial gatherings where pungent banters are ubiquitous within the discussions that are at hand, the individual who cannot comprehend the pungent banters will be considered a “half-wit" or a “dimwit" nor an “imbecile” and other words you may think of, that lucidly define an unconventional individual within their circle. Most heterosexuals don’t react affably towards homosexuals, which eventuates in homosexuals being called all sorts of names for refusing to succumb to the culture of heterosexuality. The trend goes as far as “misandry” and “misogyny”. Therefore, you understand how the term “kaffir” is nothing but a sore losers" therapeutic way of dealing with individuals who refuse to conform to their standards of living.

In the township, you often find wenches conforming to the vaunted promiscuous life that most of them pursue with all kinds of frivolous materials as a quid pro quo. If you’re not financially well, in South Africa, you’re considered impotent. That’s how bad the state of mind is, in the townships. 

Women who are broke, never want to be in a romantic relationship with a man who’s also in the same financial situation as them. This democratic system has made Africans so hungry to a point whereby materials are being valued more than souls. What a calamity!

I, boldly, say I am a kaffir! A proud one!

I don’t believe in these township politics of treating nor addressing people based on the clothes they wear nor materials they possess. I don’t believe in this culture that our sisters perpetuate, where staggering amounts of money gets squandered on artificial beauty that is vaunted, as of late. 

They could use that money to pay for skills training courses so they can be able to make their own money, instead of having to sacrifice their bodies to attain those materials that never enriches them. I’m a kaffir! I don’t believe in the mentality of relatives who have acquired varsity accolades, treating those who don’t have “uMalusi" nor varsity accolades with utter contempt. I don’t believe in this mental slavery that has engulfed black neighbourhoods, of believing that the government owes them nor being devoutly entitled to handouts. Nobody owes you shit! 

Go out there and get it yourself! 

I could write a piece that will equate an Asian scroll, expressing my non-beliefs of all these generally accepted laws that make Africans more stupid.

I, confidently, say I am a KAFFIR! However, still, no non-African has the authority to address me as such…

The objects of fear

The great Bantu Biko , once said that fear is an important determinant in South African politics. In fact, that’s what all governments use to contain the civilians. Resurrection

Christians would think of Jesus, first, when this word is being mentioned. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, it is the rising again of all the human dead before the final judgment; or the state of one risen from the dead. It is, simply, about revival nor the process of renewal. In Christianity, Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected on the third day. In the African culture, resurrection comprises a nexus with ancestors nor the ones who are considered deceased or late, on earth, like Christ. We may find resurrection being elucidated in a variety of ways from disparate perspectives and, mostly from religious perspectives. In the ancient Greek religion, there are many instances where the concept of resurrection gains enormous relevance. Memnon, who was killed by Achilles, was resurrected.  Achilles, after being killed, was resurrected by his mother, Thetis. Asclepius, was resurrected and altered into a more colossal deity, subsequent to being killed by Zeus....

Not free as a bird.

Perception of reality is, often deemed realer than reality itself. "I want to be as free as a bird." a cliché that feels new, everytime it's being uttered or when our auditory tools cross paths with this ancient, yet immortal utterance. "The other side of the grass looks greener" another famous aphorism, but I prefer Marc and Angel's quote "If the grass looks greener on the other side, it might be life reminding you to water the grass you're standing on." Who came up with this idea that birds are free? Or, maybe an idealist looked at how birds look stress-free and he thought to himself that they're even able to effortlessly flee from their problems, without realizing that the bird has their own adversities.
