Many, usually say “familiarity breeds contempt”. Take jokes, for instance, you can utter the same joke three times and tell me if it will still maintain its potency. We can bet on that. So is getting familiar with something nor someone. Those who are in possession of an iPhone, are not as hyped up about it the same way as those who don’t have it. It makes sense.
Familiarity does not impel one to exercise contempt for that particular object. However, it is all the result of the human reaction towards what they are over familiar with. The more they see it, the less respect they develop for it. Hence, a human can be treated with less dignity and respect but the same people who offer that kind of treatment become the same ones to cry hysterically when those people have become cadavers.
Contempt is a mindset.
I believe it is not true that familiarity breeds contempt. People, see money everyday but they never develop contempt for it. How come? I believe this mindset is being impelled by one’s inability to see value of the subject nor their interlocutor. It is human nature to treat any object that is deemed to comprise no value with contempt. The same goes with Africans. Self-contempt is a concept they get taught at a very young age, owing to the inextricable fact that the true government of most African countries is white, regardless of the black presidents that we’re being lulled with in order to convince the people that they have acquired power, when they have utterly none. Segregation is the colonizers’ one of the best defensive weapons nor the best method to control Africans. Self-contempt makes South Africans nor the people of Azania to see their fellow black siblings as “foreigners”, simply because they were not born in Azania.
If border gates and citizenship are the sole reasons why you address your own as “foreigners”, then you are nothing but an object that’s being dictated by mental colonization nor lack of knowledge of true history nor self. Only a nation that lacks knowledge of its own true history can feasibly be infected with self-contempt. If you don’t know your true history nor refuse to learn it, then you will forever be subtly dictated by those who invest more effort in concealing your history to ensure that they create as many chattels out of the nation that lacks knowledge of its own history. We can bet, you will never find a historically literate person referring to their own people as “foreigners” nor spending copious amounts of money to buy artificial materials which are utterly frivolous, just to look like their masters. Self-contempt, makes you abhor yourself nor have eyes that only see flaws in oneself nor their own people.
Knowledge, is an extremely powerful tool. Without it, an individual is nothing but an empty container that can be moved by any man, even the puny ones, with ease. Lack of self-knowledge severely fills that empty container with nothing but self-loathing and self-contempt.
One needs knowledge to eschew ignorance. Self-contempt is ignorance.
